Suzanne Merevsky is a happy child with a loving father and an inseparable sister. But time goes by too fast. Fate will rudely knock her over. Her entire life is torn away when she falls madly in love with Julien, a small time thug on the run.
The performances are brilliant with François Damiens cast in the emotional father, a truck driver with a big heart.
“Sara Forestier is a gifted actress (...) Paul Hamy has a savage look and manner that is her match and their scenes together are the most memorable in the film (…) the chemistry between Forestier and Haenel as sisters is great and between Forestier and Hamy as lovers is more than great, almost scary.” (Kris Knipp)
Katell Quillévéré gets close to this family to capture the thrilling moments of their intense journey. The filmmaker succeeds in moving us through her elliptical approach of 25 years in the life of Suzanne, a woman “high on” love and eager to be free.
“With its terrific performances, intelligent direction and emotionally engaging storyline, Suzanne is an unforgettable drama that quietly tugs on the heartstrings. Highly recommended.” (Jennifer Tate)
