Richard recognizes Paul at a hockey game: he bullied him all these years at school! Down in a painful spiral, Richard has nothing to lose: he decides to take revenge. He kidnaps Paul to the barn where he was subjected to his bullying. The psychological fight opposing the two men gives you the shivers by its intensity. The journey to the past of this man forever stigmatized, and to his suffering is skillfully directed by Jimmy Larouche. To see in one-shot Richard as a child, Richard as a teenager and Richard as a man now humiliating his bully gives the film a more poignant twist. The violence in its crudeness is not the focus of the film; it is the emotional havoc from the broken soul that fills the heart of the film and it is spot-on! In the vicious circle of the bullied that bullies, the acting by Marc Beland and Patrick Goyette is as much true to life as the acting by the young new comers. A well-crafted, strong, sincere and necessary film!
