Ariane, a proud single judge with strict morals, is pregnant. But she has no memory of it happening! After a few failed attempts to find the father, Nolan reveals to be the father. Yes, that Nolan, the burglar, the repeat offender accused of eating the eyes of his victims. Oh boy sparks will fly between these two!
Sandrine Kiberlain and Albert Dupontel form a duo exploding with comic talent: she as an inflexible puzzled judge and he as a crazy funny unpredictable criminal. The supporting roles are handled with equal, delicious comedic sparks, like Nicolas Marié in the part of the stuttering defense lawyer or Philippe Duquesne as the rather startling coroner.
With his play on words (“Qui vole un oeuf bute un veuf”) and his caustic dialogues, Albert Dupontel “soaks his acerbic pen into rose water and achieves the perfect cocktail between zany burlesque and tenderness” (Gwenola Trouillard).
“With 9 Months Stretch he [Albert Dupontel] sentences you to fits of laughter without parole” (Alain Spira).
