Caroline, a dentist in her sixties, has just retired. And does she ever have time on her hands! So her daughters gave her a membership at the “Beaux jours” Senior Club.
There, seniors take pottery and acting classes and they are also treated like little children. Caroline finally accepts to go to computer lessons where she falls in love with Julien, her attractive forty something instructor. Sexual passion flares up in beautiful sensuous love scenes shot with gentleness and great sensitivity.
Does life start at 60 when in love again? Who does Caroline really love, Julien her younger lover or Philippe her “old” husband?
In her film, Marion Vernoux moves away from the easy “cougar” clichés to prove that age is meaningless in matters of the heart and sexual attraction.
“(…) Set against the blurred landscapes of the North Sea beaches, a vibrant anthem to life, celebrated in a humorous and truthful, dark and light spirit” (Pierre Fornerod).
“Thoughtful and touching old age dramedy features strong performances from a seasoned cast” (Jordan Mintzer).
